一、邵阳学院简介 Introduction of SYU

Shaoyang College was founded in 1958 and is a provincial-level multidisciplinary undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education with qualifications for master's degree graduate enrollment and international student enrollment. Located in Shaoyang City, Hunan Province, a cultural city with a history of over 2500 years.

The school has excellent basic educational conditions. Covering an area of 1.6748 million square meters, with a school building area of 860500 square meters, fixed assets of 1.445 billion yuan, original value of teaching and research instruments and equipment of 549 million yuan, the library has a collection of 3.195 million books, including 1.27 million e-books, 1471 paper newspapers and magazines in Chinese and foreign languages, and 50 various databases and platforms

Significant achievements have been made in the construction of school disciplines and majors. There are 22 teaching colleges with a Master's degree category in Mechanical, Biological, and Pharmaceutical majors under the "Service to National Special Needs Talent Training Program"; We have 6 "Double First Class" applied characteristic disciplines in Hunan Province, covering 11 university disciplines including economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, and art; 52 undergraduate majors are open to enrollment in 30 provinces (cities, autonomous regions), with 26999 full-time students enrolled.

The school obtained the qualification for international student enrollment in 2012, began admitting international language learners in 2015, and began admitting international undergraduate students in 2019. In recent years, the school has actively carried out international exchanges and cooperation, and has established various forms of cooperation and exchange relationships with universities in multiple countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, and Malaysia. Students from Uzbekistan, Laos, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Yemen, Morocco, Ghana, Algeria, Nigeria, Thailand, Cambodia, Kazakhstan and other countries are currently studying together on campus.

4、 Tuition 费用

（1） Accommodation fees

The school provides accommodation and public kitchens for international students to meet the dietary needs of individual students. The accommodation fees are as follows:

Insurance premium: 800 yuan/year; Residence permit application fee: 800 yuan/year; Medical examination fee: approximately 500 yuan/person; Textbook fee: Approximately 1000 yuan/year, all above fees will be charged based on actual expenses.

5、 Application requirements申请条件

（1） Non Chinese citizens who abide by Chinese laws and school regulations, study diligently, and maintain good physical health.

（2） Language students are between the ages of 18 and 30 and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

（3） Graduates with a high school diploma or equivalent, aged between 18 and 25, with an HSK4 score of 180 or above.

（4） Provide the following application materials:

1. "Application Form for International Student Enrollment" (see Annex 1, the application form must be filled out by the applicant themselves);

2. A copy of the personal ordinary passport information page (in principle, the passport must be valid for at least one year after enrollment);

3. Scanned copy of the highest education certificate or notarized Chinese/English translation (stamped with official seal);

4. Scanned copies of HSK scores (within the validity period);

5. "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" (see Annex 2. The applicant should strictly follow the items required in the "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" for examination. The "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" is invalid if there are missing items, no photos of the applicant or no seals on the photos, and no signatures or seals from doctors or hospitals. The validity period is within 6 months);

6. A certificate of no criminal record or a notarized Chinese/English translation (the applicant must submit a valid certificate of no criminal record issued by the local public security organ within 6 months);

7. Bank deposit certificate (holding a deposit certificate that is equivalent to one year's tuition fee and sufficient to cover reasonable expenses for studying, living, and other expenses during the period of studying in China);

8. Self introduction video (with a duration of no more than 1 minute, in mp4 format, with a capacity of no more than 40MB, educational students must use Chinese and send it to their email on time);

9. Applicants for the Visual Communication Design major are required to provide one artwork.

（5） The above application materials are required to be submitted to the email before June 15, 2024. At the same time, applicants are required to prepare the original documents, which need to be reviewed, verified, and archived when reporting on campus.

7、 Scholarship policy 奖学金政策

（1） Language Advanced Scholarship

Scholarships for language learning students are divided into the Belt and Road countries' language student scholarships in Hunan Province and class A scholarships on campus. Those who apply for language student scholarships for countries along the the Belt and Road should download and fill in the "Application Form for Language Student Scholarships for Countries along the the Belt and Road in Hunan Province" (see Annex 3) and send it to the designated mailbox before May 15, 2024. Class A scholarship in the university is used to reward language learning students who have not won the scholarship for language students from countries along the "the Belt and Road".

（2） Undergraduate Scholarship

Undergraduate degree scholarships are divided into two categories: Hunan Province Scholarship for International Students (Degree Students) and on campus B-class and C-class scholarships. Among them, the Hunan Province Scholarship for International Students (Academic Degrees) is evaluated based on the applicant's comprehensive learning and performance during their academic period. The B-class scholarship on campus is used to reward undergraduate students studying in China in the first academic year, while the C-class scholarship on campus is used to reward undergraduate students studying in China in the second to fourth academic years.

Note: Applicants are not allowed to receive any two or more types of scholarships at the same time.

8、 Precautions 注意事项

（1） If the various documents, certificates, etc. involved in the application materials are texts other than Chinese and English, in addition to the original, a notarized Chinese or English translation must also be attached. Two or more pages of texts, certificates, etc. should be stamped with a cross stitch seal or an official seal on each page;

（2） The application materials must be valid during the admission review period;

（3） The applicant must be responsible for the authenticity and completeness of the submitted materials. If the application materials are false or missing, our school will not accept them;

（4） Those who fail to pay insurance premiums, medical examination fees, tuition fees and other related fees in a timely manner will not be eligible for enrollment in our school;

（5） Our school has never entrusted any intermediary or individual to act as an agent for international student enrollment, and the school will not charge any fees in any form before international students enter the school;

（6） After mid July 2024, applicants can log in to their email to check the admission results.
