一、Introduction of the college

Hunan Railway Professional Technology College was founded in 1951 and is a public comprehensive vocational college with a focus on engineering majors and a common development of majors such as literature, management, and economics. In 2006, it was listed as one of the first national demonstration vocational colleges. In July 2015, it was listed as one of the first excellent college construction units in Hunan Province. In 2019, it was selected as a national high-quality vocational college. In 2019, it was selected as a construction unit for high-level vocational colleges with Chinese characteristics, making positive contributions to the economic and social development of the country and Hunan. The school covers an area of 1000.93 acres with a total construction area of 337500 square meters, and currently has more than 14000 teachers and students.

The school is deeply involved in the entire industry chain of rail transit equipment manufacturing, and has established 40 vocational majors such as railway locomotive and vehicle manufacturing and maintenance, EMU maintenance technology, and urban rail vehicle application technology, forming a professional group system covering the manufacturing, application, control, and management industry chain of rail transit equipment such as high-speed rail, ordinary rail, and subway. There are 5 key construction majors of national demonstration vocational colleges supported by central finance, 2 high-level professional groups with Chinese characteristics, 1 national high-quality major, 2 national education reform pilot majors, 3 national demonstration professional points, 3 national teaching resource libraries, 12 national high-quality courses, 12 national high-quality resource sharing courses, 5 national high-quality online open courses, 1 ideological and political demonstration course of the Ministry of Education, 98 national planning textbooks, 7 national professional standards led by the development, 3 first-class characteristic professional groups of higher vocational education in Hunan Province, and 4 characteristic high-level professional groups of Hunan Province. Selected as one Huang Danian style teacher team in national universities, with two national level teaching teams and two national level teaching innovation teams, as well as 13 national level famous and excellent teachers such as the "Ten Thousand Talents Plan". 23 technical skills master studios have been established, 2 enterprise mobile workstations have been established, and CRRC's "Ten Thousand Talents Plan Leading Talents" and "CRRC Scientists (Technical Experts)" have jointly led with school leaders.

➢Admission Options

1.      Application for a college degree: Students are required to complete the coursework and pass relevant examinations in fulfillment of the chosen college’s degree requirements within three years. Successful graduates will be conferred college degrees along with graduation certificates according to Chinese regulations on academic degrees.

2.      Application for the Chinese language study (non-degree education): This program usually takes one year. Students in this program may take the Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) examination and receive the HSK certificates.

3.      Short-term training program (non-degree education): This program takes no more than 180 days. The course content, plan of study, tuition, and relevant items will be specified in the contract.

➢ Application Requirements

1、Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens (according to Nationality Law of the People’s Republic of China) and are willing to study at Hunan Railway Professional Technology College.

2、Applicants must abide by Chinese laws, respect Chinese customs, follow college rules and regulations, and can complete the coursework.

3、Applicants must provide diplomas, criminal background check, financial support, and verified Foreigner Physical Examination record.

4、Applicants for college degrees must be at least 18 years of age, single, with a high school diploma (or equivalent credentials). Applicants who do not have Chinese language learning background or have not obtained the HSK (Level 3) certificates can receive one-year Chinese language training at Hunan Railway Professional Technology College; they can proceed to the coursework after obtaining the HSK (Level 3) certificates. For applicants who obtained the HSK (Level 4) certificates, they may apply and then be directly enrolled in the second-year coursework.

5、Applicants for short-term training or educational exchange programs follow the specific agreed-upon contracts.

2、Application Procedure：

（1）Applicants fill out the form entitled “International Students’ Application Form at Hunan Railway Professional Technology College” (Appendix 1) and then submit it to the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges via mail or e-mail. Applicants provide a scanned copy of the valid passport, portrait (color print), diploma (or alternative credentials), criminal background check, financial support, verified Foreigner Physical Examination record, resume, HSK certificates, and other award certificates, respectively.

（2）The college review committee will screen the applications based on the aforementioned application materials.

（3）The approved applications will be submitted to Hunan Education Department and Foreign Affairs Office for record.

（4）Admission letters and “Visa Application Forms of International Students” will be issued to admitted students (see Form JW202).

（5）With the admission letters, applicants may apply for visa X1 (long-term program for 180 days or more) or apply for visa X2 (short-term program less than 180 days). After the visa is issued, students should check in at the college according to the designated date. For those who cannot check in on time, an extension of admission should be processed.                                                  

（6）Applicants may fill out the form entitled “International Students’ Financial Aid and Scholarship Application Form at Hunan Railway Professional Technology College Scholarship” (Appendix 2) to apply for financial support.

（7）Relevant departments at college will follow through relevant protocols in a timely manner.
