On the morning of September 5, the China-Africa Women's Education theme conference entitled "China and Africa Join Hands to Educate and Empower Women" was held at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. Madame Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President and Special Envoy for Girls' and Women's Education of UNESCO, attended and delivered a speech. Spouses and representatives of 26 African leaders attending the 2024 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) attended the conference.

Peng Liyuan said in her speech that China and Africa are a community with a shared future, and Chinese and African women have written a magnificent chapter of unity, cooperation and hand in hand with hard work, wisdom and dedication. Peng Liyuan introduced the fruitful results achieved in the more than 30 years since the implementation of China's "Spring Bud Program" through education to empower women to better realize the value of life, and spoke highly of the many African women who have realized the value of life through education in recent years. Peng Liyuan said that on the journey of promoting the development of women's education and moving towards a better future, China and Africa share the same interests. Both sides should continue to carry forward the spirit of China-Africa friendship and cooperation, jointly promote the development of global girls' and women's education in a more equitable, inclusive and high-quality direction, and jointly build and share a better world.

The first lady of the African co-chairs of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), the first lady of the President of Senegal, the first lady of the President of Burundi, the first lady of the President of Equatorial Guinea, Constancia, the first lady of the President of Mauritania, the first lady of the President of the African Union, Isola the first lady of the President of Mozambique and Rachel the first lady of the President of Kenya spoke on behalf of the African side.

Chinese female astronaut Wang Yaping spoke as the representative of China's outstanding women.

The distinguished guests were full of praise for the wonderful performances of the children and the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and spoke highly of the great achievements China has made in promoting the development of women's cause. The atmosphere at the scene was warm and friendly.
