On July 2, 2024, Xingfei Zhiyuan International Education and Culture Center visited the Consulate General of the Republic of Malawi in Changsha and had a discussion with Helex Kayembe, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Malawi in China, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of  the Republic of Malawi in Changsha, and Liu Xiyi, Secretary General of the Consulate General of  the Republic of Malawi in Changsha. Wang Quanhai, General Manager of Xingfei Zhiyuan International Education and Culture Center, Tian Jia, Executive Deputy General Manager, and Zhou Qing, Deputy General Manager, participated in the visit.

Mr. Wang expressed that it is a great honor to visit Mr. Helex, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of Malawi in Changsha. We have learned that your consulate is the only African consulate in Changsha. There is a Chinese proverb that goes, "A distant relative is not as good as a close neighbor." The purpose of our trip is to gain a deeper understanding of Malawi and lay a foundation for promoting economic and trade cooperation between Hunan and Malawi in the future.

Mr. Helex expressed gratitude and welcome to Xingfei's visit, and briefly introduced Malawi. Malawi is a landlocked country located in southeastern Africa, adjacent to Tanzania, Zambia, and Mozambique. It currently has a population of 21 million, including over 3000 Chinese people. Subsequently, Mr. Helex introduced the economic development status of Malawi: "Malawi has formulated a vision for 2063, which is to build Malawi into an inclusive, prosperous, and self-reliant industrialized middle-income country by 2063. At the same time, Malawi is currently implementing an ATM+E plan. A represents agriculture, T represents tourism, M represents mining, and E represents energy. Hunan entrepreneurs are welcome to invest and cooperate in these four fields."

In addition, Mr. Helex also mentioned that besides having a lot of cooperation space in the economic field, China and Malaysia have important potential for cooperation in the field of education. As an agricultural powerhouse, Malawi has signed cooperation agreements with higher education institutions such as China Agricultural University and Hunan Agricultural University in areas such as talent training. Malawi's higher education resources are extremely limited, and the integration with China's education resources is particularly urgent. Mr. Wang stated that Star Africa Zhiyuan is committed to achieving the dreams of every Chinese and African youth. The key projects promoted by Star Africa include vocational education and training between China and Africa, two-way study abroad between China and Africa, and internships for African students studying in China. We hope that through long-term friendly exchanges, more and more Chinese universities can promote the teaching of courses for Malawian youth, and more and more outstanding Malawian youth to come to China for study and internship. Mr. Helex highly recognizes and agrees with this.

This visit is the first meeting between Xingfei Zhiyuan and the Malawi government. In the future, we look forward to cooperation between China and Malaysia in economic and trade exchanges, education cooperation, and other areas, achieving mutual benefits.
