On May 24th, a special online exchange activity for primary school students from China and Africa was held at Songya Lake Second Primary School in Changsha County, Hunan Province. Both primary school students showcased their own cultural and educational characteristics. In January 2024, Songya Lake Second Primary School invited Johanna Chen, President of China-Africa Economic and Trade Chamber of Commerce in Changsha County, to give a lecture on "Entering Mysterious Africa" to the students of Songya Lake Second Primary School, which aroused their strong interest in the local customs, natural beauty, and cultural heritage of Africa. On May 24th, representatives of teachers and students from Songya Lake Second Primary School had their first online exchange with Utafiti School in Kenya, Africa. Despite being thousands of miles apart, modern technology allows elementary school students in Central Africa to gather in virtual spaces. Through video connections, the teachers and students of Songya Lake Second Primary School warmly greeted African friends on the screen and performed choruses and "seasonal dance". The children of Utafiti in Kenya shared their vibrant dances and unique music, bringing a unique atmosphere. In the education and teaching exchange segment, students from Songya Lake Second Primary School showcased their wonderful classroom achievements, shared unique learning methods and experiences. African children also shared their interesting experiences in school and the local educational characteristics. Both sides had a heated discussion on how to better stimulate learning interest and improve learning effectiveness.
